Hi Erica,
I believe that I heard about this particular summit via Arielle Ford. Are you thinking of organizing a summit soon? Good for you.
Although I see the merits of a summit, I have always suspected that a lot of people unsubscribe once the summit ends. Well, lo and behold, I read a post just a couple of weeks ago (I believe by Morgana Rae) that reported that the long terms benefits are small for that very reason. The author ad participated in several and, after reviewing the statistics, found that the ‘real’ list growth is very small due to the unsubscribes.
Rachel,
Being on a summit is a big learning experience for me. Yes, a large number of people suddenly unsubscribe because they probably feel bothered by the promotional emails. Yet there were many subscribers who sent thank you emails to me in response to receiving the emails. From my perspective, the people who unsubscribe are not interested in what I am offering at this time. Maybe they were a few years ago when they opted in for the free gift but their circumstances may have changed. Yes, people unsubscribe and some new people join the lists. So it is not a suddenly huge increase of “numbers” on the list. Bu those who do subscribe are interested.
The other piece about being on a summit is that clients can more easily find me. They may be subscribers on someone else’s list, the summit host or one of the other speakers. These potential clients may not subscribe to a list but may contact me directly, as some have.
I think that a few years ago being on a summit would have doubled and tripled your list. But nowadays we are all inundated with emails announcing all sorts of events and we have to be more choosy and careful.
Here is what one person said in an email to the host of the Passion and Romance Summit:
“I’m really looking forward to listening to all the interviews. I love all the interviews you do.
Thank you for Dr. Erica’s interview! I love her message!”
My goal is to reach as many people as I can to bring more love into our hearts and relationships.
The size of my list is not the more important factor.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica
Veena,
My goal in this blog post is to introduce the person who created this incredible Passion and Romance Summit, Iris Benrubi. She briefly talks about how she conceived of the summit and her own view of intimacy.
If you sign up for the summit, for free, you can see how it works. She pre-recorded over 30 interviews. She personally interviewed each person. Then she works with a tech person who set up her squeeze page, optin, and other pages. She set up an affiliate link for her program and asked for the participants to set up affiliate links.
The process is a lot of work but well worth it because you make such high level connections, with all the speakers, and you create a much bigger audience.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica
Hi Erica.
How are you?
Came upon your blog and was pretty intrigued by the topic – How Do You Create A Passion And Romance Summit?
Is it really possible to have such a summit and what would be involved in it?
I see no blog post here on this topic…would have loved to read it.
Pretty blog you have here.
Best wishes and Regards.
Take care.
Veena 🙂
